TRE® (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises), Breathwork

Deborah

Many people come to Deborah feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their bodies. Her presence is measured, grounded, and reassuring, and sessions are always guided at a pace that respects your nervous system and your capacity in the moment. Her way of working is often described as warm, steady, and quietly nurturing.

Deborah works with two gentle, body-based approaches: TRE® and Breathwork, to support the body’s natural ability to release held tension, regulate the nervous system and find greater ease and connection. The trauma work, and particularly the Science of Human Safety (Polyvagal theory), learned through TRE® training, deeply informs how she works with breath.

TRE® (Tension & Trauma Release Exercises) is a simple and natural practice that helps the body let go of stored tension. Many of us hold stress and overwhelm in our bodies without realising it, and over time this can leave us feeling tight, tired, or on edge. TRE® supports the body to release this tension through involuntary movements - often gentle shaking - that arise from within rather than being consciously controlled. Many people experience TRE® as calming, grounding, and relieving.

Breathwork Deborah works with the breath in two complementary ways:

As a breath coach, Deborah supports clients with functional breathing - a gentle, practical breathing practices that help the body breathe more efficiently and with less effort. These practices can support anxiety, stress, sleep, focus, and overall wellbeing. Sessions may include simple techniques as simple home practices to support you in everyday life.

As a Breathwork Practitioner Deborah also uses the Conscious Connected Breath. This is a continuous, flowing style of breathing that supports a deeper inward focus and is a gentle inner journey, guided carefully and with great attention to safety and support. For some people, this allows deeper emotions or long-held patterns to come into awareness, so they can be met and integrated with compassion rather than being held in the body.
